Japan Agricultural Award and Yomiuri Agricultural Award in 2011

Susumu Kumagai, an emeritus professor of Tokyo University and a former director of the Research Center for Food Safety (currently the Acting Chairperson of the Food Safety Commission of Japan), was awarded the Japan Agricultural Award and Yomiuri Agricultural Award in 2011; his achievements in “research on food contaminating microorganisms and their produced toxins for securing food safety” were highly acknowledged.
